Navajo Bridge Star Party

FREE FAMILY EVENT!

Coconino County collaborates with Glen Canyon Natural History Association to organize this free event. This year’s theme is “Culture and Science of Exploring the Night Sky”.

The public will have a chance to learn about the wonders of astronomy from a science and traditional Navajo perspective. Day and evening programs will include:

  • David Begay – “Sharing the Skies: Navajo Astronomy”
  • Sunny Dooley – “Ma’ii and Friends: Navajo coyote storytelling”
  • Johnson Dennison – “Fireside: Navajo Cultural Teachings”
  • Art & Marie Cloutier – “Paleo Astronomy of the Paria Corridor”
  • along with telescope viewing of constellations setup by amateur and professional astronomers on the Historic Navajo Bridge.
