Naabik’íyáti’ Committee Work Session on Proposed Escalade

Tribal council members will hear from lobbyists and supporters of an effort to build a tourist development and gondola tram at the confluence of the Little Colorado and Colorado rivers, overlooking the Grand Canyon.

Developers hope to persuade this influential committee to approve their project and get the tribe to pay $65 million towards the project.

Opposition has swollen worldwide by tens of thousands of people who see the project as both a cultural and environmental threat.
